Your information, handled thoughtfully

Privacy Policy

This notice explains what information HomeDecorFix may collect when you visit the website or contact us, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective date: 10 October 2026Website: HomeDecorFix.co.uk

1. Who we are

In this notice, "HomeDecorFix", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of homedecorfix.co.uk. We publish home-decorating ideas, guides and planning tools. We are responsible for deciding how personal information collected through this website is used (the data controller).

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at saniashahzadi0000@gmail.com or use our Contact Us page.

This notice is intended for visitors to the UK website. It should be read alongside any cookie preferences shown on the site.

2. Information we may collect

The information we handle depends on how you use the site. It may include:

  • Information you send us: your name, email address, message, and any details or images you choose to include in a contact or enquiry form.
  • Technical and usage information: details such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, approximate visit times, referring page, and security or error logs. Website hosting and security services may record some of this information.
  • Cookie and preference information: choices you make in a cookie banner or preference tool, and information stored by cookies or similar technologies where they are used.
Budget calculator: The current HomeDecorFix budget calculator performs its calculations in your browser. The calculator code itself does not send the budget or room choices you enter to our server. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information into planning tools.

We do not ask you to submit sensitive personal information through our decorating tools. Please avoid including sensitive details in messages or uploaded images.

3. How and why we use information

We may use information to respond to your questions, provide the pages and tools you request, keep the website available and secure, prevent spam or misuse, understand site performance where measurement tools are enabled, and meet legal obligations.

Under UK data-protection law, we must have a lawful basis for each use. Depending on the purpose and the site feature, that basis may be our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website, taking steps at your request, complying with a legal obligation, or your consent. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; doing so does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files or similar technologies that can store or access information on your device. The site may use technologies needed for basic functions, security, or remembering your privacy choices. If optional analytics, advertising, embedded-content, or other non-essential technologies are used, we will provide information about them and request consent where required before they are used.

You can manage optional technologies through the site's cookie-preference controls, if available, and through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect site features. A browser setting does not necessarily replace any consent choice you need to make through the site.

Our cookie controls should identify the actual technologies used, their purposes, and providers. Please review them whenever plugins, advertising, analytics, or embedded media change.

5. Who may receive information

We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information needed with service providers that help us host, secure, maintain, or support the website; deliver email; prevent spam; or provide analytics and cookie-preference functions where those are enabled. Those providers may process information only as needed for their services and under their own applicable terms and safeguards.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people or the website from fraud or security threats, or as part of a transfer of the website or its business. External links, social-media features, videos, or other embedded content may be operated by third parties and can have separate privacy practices.

If a service provider processes personal information outside the UK, we will use a permitted transfer mechanism and safeguards where required by law.

6. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including to respond to a request, maintain security records, resolve disputes, or meet legal and accounting duties. Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is held. When it is no longer needed, we will delete it or securely anonymise it, unless we are required to keep it longer.

Website logs and contact messages may have different retention periods.

7. Your choices and data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis we rely on, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, correct inaccurate details, erase information, restrict or object to certain uses, or receive information you provided in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

These rights are not absolute and some exceptions may apply. To make a request, email saniashahzadi0000@gmail.com. We may ask for enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant data. We aim to respond within the period required by law.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

8. Security and children's information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no website or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us promptly if you believe information you sent to us has been exposed or misused.

HomeDecorFix is a general-audience home and decorating website and is not designed to invite children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our site, services, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top shows when the latest version was published. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to visitors' attention.
